96 thunderace problem - Yamaha Forums

putrol4.2 Join Date: Jan 2012 Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts	96 thunderace problem hi every one ive recently purchased a 1996 yzf 1000 thunderace 38000ks then now it has 43000ks & on thw way to work today it started making bad noises in second gear at first i thought it was a bit of paper/plastic caught underneath & flaping in the wind cause when i changed into 3rd it went away but when i went back to 2nd it was there again & its only in 2nd gear no others it sounds like a tooth missing im no mechanic but any clues were to start looking & if it is 2nd that needs replacing a ball park figure on fixing would be good as i spent all my money on the bike thanks
