I got a 2001 YZF 426. My timing chain failed and took the teeth off the crankshaft. A stock crank is $450.00 plain (crank only). An aftermarket 450 crank from WIESCO is 300 with a rod, crank bearings and a bottom end gasket kit. I asked my local YAMAHA dealer and they didn't know if they were interchangable...so is the stock 426 crank is the way to go or will a 450 crank work?

That would be too easy. Yamaha in their infinante wisdom figured it should be machined as a solid piece of the crank. It would be too easy to replace a small gear....no money in that. :(
