Default 2006 yz450f dilemma

Hi guys, right now I have a 2003 RM 250 and I like it, but all my friends have four strokes and I've ridden them and now I want to get a 450 four stroke. Right now at the dealer is a "brand new" never been off the show room floor 2006 yz450f for $4,400.
I found a used 2006 yz450f with lots of extras and it has "been cared for meticulously" for $2,800.
I'm having a hard time deciding on if I should get the new one or just be happy saving money on the old one.
I have enough money plus the value of my RM 250 that I won't be broke, just that I am going to college and money is money right now. I just want to know from you guys if it is really better to just get a brand new never ridden bike or just get the used one.
Thanks

Go for the used one if it is in good working shape. Save your money!

I like all my stuff new. This way I know for a fact how the bike has been from day 1. But if you don't mind used and something is a killer deal then don't pass it up.

Welcome to the forum
Difference thought between street bikes and dirt bike. You take a dirt bike out one time and it is not new. It will get all scratched and beat up. Besides you can always get new parts to make it new.
