does this stuff really work found a jug of it and im wondering what the shelf life is looks like it might be pretty old

It works, but IMO it is not needed if you can turn wrenches... most of the people that have bikes running hot constantly are running lean... get your stuff jetted right or get your FI mapped correctly and you will be fine with plain old 50/50 mix of water/anti-freeze as long as there are no silicates in it.
