You can run as high of compression as you want, and usually when you get into the 14:1 range you are looking at either hight dollar race fuel or alcohol which comes with a whole new set of problems. the other thing to watch for when you get into monster cams is upgrading your valves and springs.
If I were you I would start with things that are going to compliment any future mods you could ever want to do... GOOD full exhaust, port the head (+1 valves and HD springs), bore the carb, and some cams (but make sure you do the research and find out which will work best for your riding style)... and every time I do a cam swap I get new cam gear bolts and timing chain just for some peace of mind. |

hey thanks burke what is considered good for an exhaust on these things i used to have monster duals on my raptor but im guessing they dont make exhausts for bikes lol

The Pro-Circuit T-4 & DrD seem to be really popular pipes, but I would give HMF a call... I see they have a pipe listed for an 03/04 and everything newer but they might have one to fit an 02.
You might also want to take into account the noise level of an aftermarket pipe. |

my 660 raptor had monster duals with no quiet cores.... im not worried about noise lol
