Default 81 xs850 project

Hi folks I am in the middle of fixing an XS850 I found on craigslist last year and couldn't pass up. The bike is generaly in good shape I am just trying to find all the things the last owner "fixed" to make it reliable and safe. I will try and post some pics when I get home from work tonight. John

Anyone have any insight on the fuel petcocks? Modify them to on/off/res or leave as is(rebuilt) prim/on/reserve?

You don't need off as the taps are vacuum type .. so the tap switches off when the engine stops & switches on when the engine starts ... pri is to over ride the tap just in case you run out of fuel, so you just switch to pri to start the engine then switch to on or res I cannot really see a reason for fitting other taps as the originals will stop any flooding problems if normal taps were left in the on position
