Default New guy

Hey everyone, figured I'd come in here and introduce myself. My name is Tyler and I have a 1977 Yamaha Chappy LB80 that I am restoring. It was my great grandmothers and had 352 original miles on it when I got it from my uncle last year.

Here's picture from when I first got it.

It is currently in about a thousand pieces, but I just started reassembling everything today. Got the rear suspension on and the engine remounted to the frame. Wish me luck!

Welcome to YF! WOW! A 77 with 352 orginal miles on it! That bike is probably the only one in the world with that low of miles on it. You definitely have to post pics when you are done with the restore.

Yep, the outside of the bike didn't look like 352 miles though, it looked like a lot more. My uncle rode it through...err....mud. A lot. And then it sat with that mud still on it for 15 years. The inside of the engine, however, looked brand new, which was pretty cool.

I actually need a some help with the bike, which is why I'm here. I made this thread in the 2 stroke classics forum. [Only registered can see links. ]

Here's a pic as she sits right now. Crappy phone pic for now, proper DSLR shoot to come when she's finished.

As you can see, I'm more of a car guy.

I lied, it was actually 326 original miles. I just went back and looked at the old pictures. One major bummer about this project is that the original speedometer was trashed from rust and dented from my brother running it into a basketball goal two days after I got it running, so I will be using a used speedo with significantly more miles on it - 1160 ish. Haha.

There's no such thing! Actually all of those have wheels inside of them. The four in the back left were shipped to Arizona today. The stack on the far right is actually six high and those are my R compound autocross tires. The stack of two in the middle I got for free and I'm trying to sell them. The two barrels just next to the bike are for a set of super rare Nardi BBS wheels that I am refinishing.
