Up grading to an R6 questions...

I am new to the forum and have just got my full bike licence and was thinking of up grading from a kawasaki 250 to a yamaha r6, i have looked at the 2011 and 2009 models and i can not see much difference between them. Can someone please point out the body and engine differences for me so i can choose what model to buy. cheers Gilly
