Unhappy I need some help guys

Hi everyone,
My name is David and I'm new here. I have been wanting an R6 really bad for awhile now and I don't know if I should buy one at a dealer or on craigslist. I have about $3,000 and there are some slim pickings on craigslist at the moment. I found a dealer that has a bunch of 07 R6's at $6,000. Obviously I'm not going to pay that much for it. I'm going to try and talk him down to 4k. Should I just pay the 4k cash if hes willing or put down the 3k I have and make payments for the last 1k. Any advice would be helpful =D

I always tried to not make payments if at all possible! You can save some money by not doing it! That said You may not have that option Only you know that.

I try to stay away from payments as well, but I do finance stuff through my bank for the credit reporting. (credit is everything nowadays).

What I would do is...

Go to your bank with the $3k, put it in a seperate account, and get a loan for however much you want (be reasonable though). If you only need $4k and can afford $250 a month then set it up on a 12 month note. Pay what you can out of pocket and take the rest for the month from the $3k that you put away. By having all or almost all of the money to pay the loan before you even get it, they are more inclined to give you a great interest rate, so it doesn't cost you much.

Now if you have good credit already, then there is no need to build yours or build it back up.
