Just recently purchased this 1999 1200 XL and used it for the first time yesterday. Riding double, two adults, the waverunner was very squirrelly and the front seemed to lean to one side. From the speeds 20-40 mph it was the worst. The waverunner seemed very unstable and unsafe at these speeds. Comparing this PWC to my son's GP 800 Yamaha, I noticed that the stablizer on the rear of the unit are much smaller than the GP 800. Could this be the problem and if so where can I purchase new stablizers to take care of the problem? Also, the waverunner performed well in the 50-60 mph range.
Any suggestions, please? This waverunner only has 30 hours running time on it. Thanks, 4 jays |

Yep, the 1200xl/gpr had the ole bottom that wanted the ski to ride on one side of the hull at speeds around 20-30 mph, and when you notice it yea it bothers you. The main fix is lower your sponsons and get some aftermarket trim tabs.
