Default Sucked up rope

A section of tow rope was sucked up into the intake valve and lodged solid. I ran the motor dry for a few seconds and the impeller shredded most of the short section of rope and spit it out. The waverunner seems to run fine, but I detect there may still be a few shreds of rope in the intake system. Can I continue to run it in the water, hoping it will all be discharged, or should I do something else to insure no damage occurs. I plan to run it tomorrow to check it out on the water and see what happens, hopefully no damage? Any help or advice will be appreciated.

If I were you I would not run the engine any further untill I tore it down in any areas that could have the rope inside and made sure every little bit was clean. Bits of ANYTHING in your engine isn't something to mess around with.

By saying intake valve I think your meaning the intake grate (The opening of you pump). If your motor shredded some of it you might want to remove the waterline from your pump where it attaches the motor and blow it out with some compressed air. Also look in the fitting where the line is attached and make sure nothing is in there. Also keep an eye on your overboard pisser and make sure you see water coming out all the time while your riding.
