Default Class 1989 Waverunner value

I have a classic 89 waverunner, its in awesome shape except for the seat has some mildew in it. Does anyone know what its real value is or anyone that collects these and would interested in it? It runs like a champ and the gelcoat is in awesome shape.

e39krazy,
you have a WR500. The drawback are that motor has a generaton 1 motor and pump that is no longer used in any ski made today.
500 cc motor, 38 mm carb and a small 130-133 mm pump, I cant remember which. Top speed is about 30 mph.

Your ski is clean and even the trailer looks good. If you can find a first time ski buyer you might be able to get 700-800 out of your ski and trailer.

I use to have the big brother generation 2 ski like yours, but with a 650 and a 144mm pump and I barely got 1000 for it.

Im sorry to tell you this, but people want to go fast and fast costs money.

Luckly for you if your ski runs well, that ski should run for many years to come with the correct maintenance.

Default 89 waverunner

You should be able to get $500-$1000 for it especially if you are including the trailer. I paid $500 with a bad trailer for a 94 that needed work and was not in as good a condition as yours seems to be.

If you can find a buyer.

I am in the same boat. Was given a 1989 WR 500. Nice shape, but as indicated, not worth a whole lot. I am keeping mine until I know what I want and have the cash for it. No rush at this point. As far as value, it may sound bad to do to such a good-condition machine, but it seems that these are worth more parted out rather than whole. Look at ebay and other sale sites and you will see this is true. The engine and seat alone could gat you the amount you would get for the entire ski and trailer. I am pondering this when it comes time to sell, or I may return the favor and hand mine down to a family or friend in need.
