I have a 96 1100 wave venture when you start it it runs fine tops out around 60 after a few minutes it starts to slow down to around 40, if you shut it off wait a minute start it up and the same thing happens. could it be the overheating sensor the ski dosen't seem to be hot

fixed it turned out to be a loose exhaust boot. exhaust was filling engine compartment causing a lean condition in the motor, also water was spraying around and flooding the plugs. tightened the hose clamp now it runs like a champ

Things are much more enjoyable when you find the fix yourself.
Good Job. |

Similar issue with 96 wave venture, ski runs fantastic, although tops out at 52mph which i believe is the stock speed, however after riding the ski and shutting it off, a few minutes later and restarting, the ski bogs out when you attempt to 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it. If you feather the throttle, the ski will take off normally. Other than that, no other issues other than the ski runs super good.
