My bro inlaws got an 08 grizzly 700 thats giving him trouble and he aint to good on computer so im trying to help him out. Heres what its doing. when your runnin down the trail in drive the reverse indicicator light comes on and it falls flat on its face. Ive check all the wiring and messed with it while it was running and it didnt do anything so im stumped. Im thinking maybee a sensor but not to sure. Any ideas? If so I sure would appriciate it. maybe the R light is coming on because a bad R gear sensor? which in turn MIGHT cause the biek to stop cause of a safety built into the system?

Has your brother had this bike since new, or did he buy it used? Any wrecks that required rebuilding? Might be a short somewhere in the system.

Sounds like a bad connector or a bad ecu. Its EFI right?

Sounds like you have a bad reverse sensor. You could pull the panel off and locate it, it looks like a little plug. He could pop the connector, clean it and apply a little di-electric grease. This may help, or he may have to replace the sensor.

After doing some search for you, Alot of guys have had that problem, with the 660's AND the 700's. the sensor is near where the shift rod goes into the engine. it's a one wire sensor. on the 660's it is a green wire with a white tracer. not sure on the 700's. most of the time you can get away with cleaning the connection.
