Default 650 vs 950

Hey Guys

I've got a XVS650 and I'm looking at upgrading it. I love the look of the XVS950, and I was just wondering how it compares power wise? Obviously it's got more power, but it is only a little more or is it really noticible?

Thanks guys

I haven't ridden the 650 but from what I've heard, there is a lot of power difference.

Huge difference. The 650 pulls me around just fine but riding double, the 650 becomes underpowered. My old girlfriend had an 02 650 classic that we rode quite a bit. She was 98 lbs and I'm 185 so it's not overloaded, but it still felt underpowered in the hills. The 950...with two people on it (me and current GF) is fine. The extra weight isn't as big of an issue with the 950. And the 950 makes a lot more low end torque where the 650 was more mid range power. Both are great bikes. The 950 is EFI where the 650 had carburetors. THAT in itself is a HUGE selling point. No more waiting for it to warm up. Hit the button and ride.
