Default Testing a stator. Will it run?

I have spark on my machine, but it won't start. I replaced the CDI box to no avail. I checked the ohms of the stator and I'm leaning towards the pickup coil. Tell me what you think.

The source coil spec should be between 270 - 330 ohms. I got 250. I'm guessing that 250 would still run because it is less resistance than spec. But I'm not positive.

I do know that my pickup coil is bad because I get 350 ohms and spec is 171 - 209.

So, will the ATV run with the source coil at 250 if I replace just the pickup coil? Or should I replace the entire stator?

Thanks.

I'd replace the whole thing in one shot. Stators, at least on my bike, are a pain in the ass to replace so if I were you, I'd replace the whole thing. My guess is that it should run with the 250, but I'd still replace it.

Polski is right. Take it out and get a new one. At least you get ahead of the game...
