Then yea, same principal applies to the SS's. Personally I don't see a need for an R1 unless you got extra money laying around and want to be able to say "my bike can do BLAH mph".
Not saying that an R6 will beat an R1 at the track, but for the majority of us riders an R6 is plenty for the streets and track.

1st step (some front ductwork put on as well as the new fairing stay and repaired speedo) October 21st, 2009:

Fairings came in today so this weekend should be the weekend where I start getting the thing street ready. Pictures to follow tonight and then on the weekend.
Bought new grips by Harris: $20.54 Parts so far: $1973.77 Maintenance so far: $92.73 Subtotal so far: $2066.50

Some of the plastics finally installed. Bike should be completed next weekend (waiting on parts). In the meantime, here's a sneak peak of the fairings

Bike is slowly coming together. Just waiting to get my big list of parts in. They should be in by friday and then the bike should be about 85% done (but 100% driveable) this weekend.
The last few days, I got my rearsets and passenger pegs powdercoated black. Will post up pics tomorrow or at worst in a few days. Just updating the thread. Powdercoating labor: $75.00 Parts so far: $2767.90 Maintenance so far: $92.73 Labor so far: $75.00 Subtotal so far: $2935.63
