im trying to make it sound better and maybe little more power. im keeping the headder piece but i have to run a bigger bipe off that and run it to the jardine. the headder pipe is smaller then the jardine inlet.

Does the quad have the cat? Because if you have to remove it and sub it in with a pipe then you for sure will need to jet the thing

If you make 4 cuts perpendicular on the end of the pipe you might be able to sinch down on it with a clamp. Not too long of a cut though. Proabably wont be that tight of a seal though.

I would beg to differ. you should have to Re-jet it. I would also get a high perfomrance air filter while you are at it. I have a 350 and had to re-jet after i put on my slip on.

Yea, on a motorcycle you should be able to get away without having to re-jet the carbs but I'd follow Eric's lead and re-jet it along with a new air filter too since he knows what's up with the off-road side of things.

So going back to 2 or 3 piece systems (in my day) the back section was called a spark arrestor ... it didn't do a lot bar arrest sparks so if you added after market you could end up with a posh bit of steel/alloy that did nothing better than the OEM ... Perhaps read Phil Irving's 'Tuning for speed' this may give a heads up .... unless the FI computer "says no" lol

You are 'thinking out of the box' throwing some form of after market tail pipe wont make much odds don't try jetting the engine until you have plug chopped on areas of the carb and make a point on where you need the carb to work best ... i.e low to mid or mid to hi or hi but I guess I'm to old to know what goes on with these motors lol
