I mean hell...how many times are we gonna go to the moon and b like, yea it's still here it's still the same and we still can't live her lets take some rocks and go back home. It just dont make sense to me. The freakin runway for the shuttle is so smooth it's only inperfection is the curve of the earth.....money well spent right???

The way I look at it is this, at SOME point in time (not even close to our grandkids' lifetime) we will need to live somewhere beside the earth. Problem is that finding a place to live other than earth is not an overnight process.
I agree with you that not much has been accomplished with the moon, but look at the Internation Space Station. We got people living out there for months at a time. And they're not doing it for fun, the conduct various tests/missions not to mention that the people out at the ISS are putting their bodies on the line so that we (humans) can figure out what a human body's limits to surviving in space.
