The reason I chose the FZ 8 was that it was demo model going for a grand less than the sticker price as it was a demo. I was looking for more power than a six hundred but didnt want the full race seating position as I commute daily on the M1 into London and found that 600's are working too hard for one hour long 100 MPH trips and being bent over with so much weight on my arms to be just as much work for me.

It turns out that the FZ 8 ticks all the boxes just nicely, it has ample power and speed, its an easy handling bike at low and high speed. I havent got it past 125 on the motorway yet, but with the RPMs at 7000 in top gear it feels like there is lots left. Its not overpowering, over thirsty, or over £10,000 like a Z1 either. I suppose there arer other bikes that will dio the same thing but I am pretty happy with mine
Very cool. Welcome to the forum

Thanks for the welcome, I am new to this site, I found it while looking for other opinions on the FZ8 when I saw your post. I have read a few other reviews and all of them seem to point out that the price is too much and that pretty much a Triumph Speed Triple or Street Triple R is better in every way in trying to do what Yamaha is trying with this bike. I guess if I were a better rider and able to push the envelope more I might be inclined to agree, since on the yamaha, the suspension is not adjustable. but I dont think I will be on the track anytime soon and I have outgrown my boyracer days as well.

all in all, I think this bike will keep me happy for at least a couple of years

It's not adjustable at all?

If it's like my FZ6 only the rear is adjustable. No adjustment to the front at all.

It's just a great sound and a valuable silencer with quality of noise

Default Great bike FZ8

I have had a FZ1, Duk Monster 998, Aprilia Tuono, and many more.
I love this fz8. Its The most fun for the money. The bike feels like its part of your body. Don't over look this one.
