Default Yamaha Virago 535 Alternator Problem??!?!

Hi,

my XV535 1987 started to have a "electric" problem. What happens is when my battery is full / new the bike is perfect, it starts right away, no problems, BUT after a while "ridding" it just dies on me. What I noticed that It drains out the whole battery while riding.

So I thought - could this be Alternator Problem.?!?

Or that could be something else?!?! Any comments very appreciated.

-HELP- Thanks in advance

So I just spoke to one guy and he mentioned it could be 'regulator rectifier"

Could this be the an actual issue?! or both?!

I would put it down the rectifier/regulator ... to test do the following :-
disconnect the unit from the loom check red to the whites then black to the whites & black to red each should show continuity in one direction only. I would guess the fault to lie there but if not replace the unit as I guess no one has a Yamaha VR checker .... they costed loads ... let us know what goes on
