guys how hard is to install "STATOR" for this bike... One of my firends said it wasnt so easy with an older bikes and you really had to know what to do ... anyway don't you think that repair manual should have it???

If you can find a repair manual for the bike then it should be in there how to replace the stator. On my R6 it isn't too bad, just watch your fingers.

Did you find the solution? My 1100 is doing the same thing. Took the wiring apart multiple times (in the headlight) to fix a "short" in the molex plug. Not sure that is the only problem. Also thinking alternator. Would like to have a tried solution--hope you can help.

post up what the XV1100 is doing exactly. not turning over from the start button ? dim lights ? an odd burning smell from the l/h side of the bike ?
