1966 yg1-tk???

I have just recently gotten this wonderful classic YG1-TK<atleast that's what I'm told it is. The guy I purchased it from told me that it was a 1966 but wasn't sure. The title says '66 but he said he researched the VIN and talked to some Yamaha authority and was told it could be a '64-'66 and couldn't pinpoint the year. Anyway, the bike is a YG1 Trailmaster with the autolube so I know it's not a '64. Plus it has the smaller rear sprocket from the YG1 and not the larger trailmaster sprocket (no complaints!!!) I would like to know the exact year of this awesome classic. Is it possible to decode the VIN?? Any info on this or the YG1 in general would be great since this bike has made me become obsessed with the classic 2 stroke Yamaha's, such style!!! Thanks
