I am new to both this forum and to Yamaha boats. I have buy a used 2009 232 Ltd and need to change the impellers. I have receive them and am considering changing them myself since a dealer is very far. In the instructions it states that after the replacement of the impellers and the reinstallation of the jet pumps assembly, we need to refill "O/E pump oil or grease to spec.
Can anyone clarify what this means and how to do it. I would greatly apreciate advices. Regards |

If you remove the pump cone you will see that there is some oil, that is what oils the prop bearings. Just refill it with some good 10/30 oil. Yes engine oil. Some run tranny fluid to 80 wt oil in it, take your pick.
The prop has left hand threads and be sure to warm that used prop up with a small torch to help loosen it from the shaft. You will need a spline shaft tool to hold the shaft, do not put the splines in a vice.
