1976 xs500 no brake light with front brake lever

i have no brake light with the front brake lever of my 1976 xs500. the rear brake pedal turns the light on, but not the front. wondering where i should start looking?

is a switch fitted to the master cylinder ?

yeah. figured it out. corrioded connection in the headlight bucket. good as new now.
